Scar Reduction

What is Scar Reduction?

After a skin injury, a scab develops over the surface of the injury to protect it from germs. Once the injury is healed, the scab falls off. Sometimes, the healed skin is the same color as the rest of the body. However, sometimes, after a serious injury, the healed skin under the scab is a different color, leaving a scar which, though may fade or get lighter overtime, does not go away completely.
Lasers are then used to remove the outer layers of the damaged skin surface to even the skin tone and improve the appearance of scars. Laser treatments for scar reduction help to reduce the appearance of scars by reducing the redness around the scars. The laser targets blood vessels in the scar tissue. It is made to penetrate the skin’s surface and stimulate the growth of new skin cells.

The Procedure

    • The skin is cleaned with the cleansing agent.

  • A topical anesthetic is used to numb the skin.

  • Focused light therapy is then used to remove the outer layer of the skin to stimulate the production of new skin cells to cover the damaged ones.

Type of Laser Used

    • Fractional Co2 laser

  • MNRF (Microneedling Radiofrequency) laser

FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER

Laser skin resurfacing is a proven way to help reduce wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and other blemishes as well as tighten skin and balance tone. Fractional CO2 Lasers break up the laser energy into thousands of tiny beams to treat only a fraction of the skin in the area, which reduces downtime. Laser skin resurfacing can be used to treat one or more of the following skin concerns:⁣

    • Age spots⁣

  • Scars⁣

  • Acne scars⁣

  • Fine lines and wrinkles⁣

  • Crow's feet⁣

  • Sagging skin⁣

  • Uneven skin tone⁣⁣

  • Enlarged oil glands⁣⁣⁣

  • Warts⁣⁣⁣⁣

Microneedling Radiofrequency (MNRF)

Microneedling Radiofrequency (MNRF) is a minimally invasive technique which uses radio-frequency energy to remodel scars, finelines, wrinkles, stretch marks by inducing collagen. In addition to the benefits seen with the conventional microneedling, MNRF also delivers RF energy deep into the dermis. This triggers the body's natural healing process, generating new collagen and elastin cells. ⁣

Microneedling Radiofrequency ( MNRF) works on:

    • Acne scars i.e rolling scars, boxscar and ice pick scars⁣

  • Scars from vaccination, burns and chickenpox⁣

  • Open pores⁣

  • Saggy skin, wrinkles and finelines

  • Stretch marks

  • Difficult pigmentation⁣

  • General Skin Rejuvenation

Because the MNRF treatment can be customized to each patient's specific skin concerns, it is safe and effective for all skin types.
